Life at Kijani
At Kijani, life extends beyond the workplace — it’s a vibrant, connected, and inclusive experience.
Housing
We provide every single employee with a roof over their heads. Housing units are spread out across our 1000 acres of land in small villages where employees can reside in comfort and safety, with access to clean running water and a small ‘kitchen’ garden in which they can grow their own vegetables.
In ‘Duka’ Village there is a social hall with satellite television where workers can meet at the end of the day, watch their favourite premiership football teams, enjoy snacks from a nearby shop, and play chess and darts with their friends.
In ‘Kiwanja’ village there is a football pitch and volley ball court where ball games are organised between residents of all the villages, providing a good weekend’s entertainment.
Creche
During the working day, mothers can drop their young children at our Creche in Kiwanja village. Here their kids can be taken care of, fed nutritious meals, entertained and educated and left to play throughout the day. We have wooden cots where, when it all becomes too much, the little ones can rest and sleep, safe and sound until their mum’s return at the end of the day.
The Creche has experienced staff who look after children from the age of six months to four years.
Medical
The health and wellness centre offers routine check-ups, first aid, and treatment for common illnesses, ensuring that care is always readily available. Expectant mothers are supported with antenatal services and safe delivery care, while children benefit from regular immunization programs delivered in partnership with local health authorities.
