Chemirei and Chemase Farms
We have two farms each dedicated to growing conventional and organic crops.
- Chemirei Conventional Farm is strategically located within a pristine expanse of tea estates, providing a naturally protected environment for cultivation. This unique setting plays a vital role in minimising the risk of external chemical contamination, ensuring the integrity of our crops. With a strong commitment to sustainable and responsible farming practices, we focus on producing high-quality conventional products that consistently meet stringent safety and quality standards.
- Chemase Organic Farm is thoughtfully situated within a dedicated section of certified organic tea estates, where a steadfast commitment to exemplary organic farming practices is at the heart of every endeavour. Prior to cultivation, the land designated for organic production undergoes rigorous certification processes to ensure its full compliance with organic standards.
This careful preparation guarantees that the products grown at Chemase embody the highest levels of organic integrity, while supporting healthy ecosystems and advancing sustainable agricultural practices.
Peppermint
Cool, fresh, and sweet, this high-menthol peppermint is sourced from the highlands of Kenya. It is grown in open fields primarily through rainwater production and is naturally dried to preserve its rich flavour.
Lemongrass
Known for its distinct citrus note and herbal flavor, Kijani Botanicals offers one of the most beloved varieties of lemongrass.
Lemon Verbena
Bright and refreshing, this product has a subtly sweet taste. Grown naturally in the highlands of Kericho, it delivers a refreshing flavor.
Nettle
The Kericho climate is ideal for producing high-quality nettle. It has a gentle, mild, savory taste, accompanied by slightly grassy notes and subtle vegetal flavors. This product is grown using rainwater, and sun drying helps to retain its natural flavor.
Lemon Balm
Grown in open fields and primarily rainwater, Kijani produces top-quality Lemon Balm, which offers a fresh, citrusy flavor reminiscent of a gentle lemon-infused breeze.
New Product Development
We continue to expand our product range by focusing on high-demand crops with strong market performance. Our current semi-commercial crops include:
- Lavender – A high-potential crop with strong market demand. It is currently grown organically, with the flexibility to shift to conventional production if needed.
- Blackberry Leaf – Conventionally grown and widely used across herbal and wellness applications.
- Raspberry Leaf – Organically cultivated and valued for its natural benefits within the herbal industry.
- Fennel Seed – Organically grown, aromatic, and versatile, suitable for teas, culinary use, and natural health products.
